Upland Meals on Wheels is an independent 100% volunteer organization with no paid staff or board members. We are run separately from the nationwide program, Meals on Wheels America. We are funded by donations, sponsorships, grants, and fundraisers.
We service the adult residents of Upland, California, who are homebound, disabled, have a chronic illness, recovering from an illness, and others who are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Our clients must be unable to shop or cook for themselves.
We currently serve up to 60 meals a day Monday through Friday, with a volunteer count of 75 dedicated, hard working individuals rotating each day of the week.
Our meals come from San Antonio Regional Hospital and our volunteers package the meals individually and deliver based on an assigned route. The meals are delivered between the hours of 11AM and 1PM. Each meal is $3.25 which is paid for by the client. We are currently unable to subsidize or provide free meals.
